I love to watch the sunrise, or set. Kevin and I chose to start our last full day up on Mt. Haleaka watching the sunrise. Our morning started with a 1:50AM alarm. Our shuttle picked us up at 2:30 and took us to Mt. Haleakala. The tour guide knew we would be woefully unprepared for the below freezing temperatures and gave everyone on the trip at least one coat. Then we stood or should I say shivered in the cold until about 6:37 when we saw exactly what we'd be waiting for! It was a beautiful sunrise! I believe we were at about 9000' above sea level here. Then we went to the summit where we saw the crater at 10,000 feet. Mother Nature is truly amazing and it takes a trip like this, once in the while, to remind oneself just how incredible our world really is.
Beautiful! Breathtakingly beautiful.
